What made you choose real estate as your career?
Kim Small: My customer service job of 15 years with the airlines was always in jeopardy based on the current economics. I decided I wanted a job where I was in control of how much money I make based on outstanding customer service and hard work ethic.
Why did you want to join Keller Williams?
Small: As an independent contractor, you are a business owner and KW completely supports that business model. They give you the tools to drive your business to the next level without any limits. There isn’t another real estate business model that even compares to what KW gives to their agents: non-compete brokers, coaching, profit sharing, excellent commission splits, transparency, constant training, the list goes on and on. I honestly don’t know why you would work anyplace else.
What have you liked most about working as part of Keller Williams?
Small: The collaboration among agents has been outstanding. In addition, KW’s support, training, and coaching have had such a positive impact on my business.
If we asked your clients why they work with you, what would they say?
Small: My dedication to making sure things go smoothly.
Based on your experience, what advice would you give to new agents?
Small: Get into coaching as soon as possible and you will make money quickly. Hiring a coach early in my career helped me stay focused on lead generating for listings, getting systems in place and quieting the drunk monkey!
