Red Day EVERYDAY?
“I wish every day was Field Day,” a parent said to the administrator as she dropped her child off at Mildred Helms Elementary School, “because my daughter was sooo excited about getting to school today!”
That’s just one of the many great stories that took place on our 2015 Keller Williams Red Day in South Florida. And it really just scratches the surface. So many agents do so much more than just close down the office one day a year to spend time helping out in the community.
What is RED Day?
Introduced in 2009, RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is Keller Williams Realty’s annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, associates spend the day away from their businesses serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities. RED Day is just another example of our commitment to each other and to the cities and towns where we live and work.
Encouraging Students
I learned that at Helms Elementary in Largo, FL., EVERY class has a sponsorship from our KW Belleair Market Center. The agents have also supplied ready-made backpacks with ALL the school supplies. Any new student is able to pick out one to be their very own. There are bikes given away annually for kids with perfect attendance. (21 of them last year! 15 this year—-that’s what a big flu bug will do). KW agent Jan Johnson shared with me that the school can track improved attendance since the carrot of a new bike for every student that has perfect attendance has been held out as a prize the last couple of years.
Thank you to all the associates in our Region who did such a marvelous job at reaching out to the community. I know you feel like you received more than you gave to others. And like our Belleair Market Center you are doing so much more—it may feel like it’s RED Day, EVERY day. 🙂
