My partner David Carlisle and I owned a local company called Eagle Realty. We were both with Coldwell Banker for over 10 years when we left and opened our own small office.  From 1996-2002 we grew from 2 to 23 experienced agents.  We had no training, which was a problem because we lost some very good young agents to other companies.  We also had no systems for growth and no exit strategy.  We knew if we wanted to retire or just slow down we would lose our business.

A New Light

Then along came Keller Williams… We were not looking.  We were very happy and content and making money.  I sold houses and David ran the office.  We were both brokers and were always answering questions.

We took the time to truly check out KW because at the time there was only one office in all of south Florida and none in Miami. David my partner is very cautious.

We started to realize there was another side to living and we both wanted it.  The systems, models, brainstorming, masterminding was something we desired.  We were scared like crazy.  We knew to grow we needed to take a risk with kw. We went to Austin for launch and also attended family reunion, their annual convention.

A few years later the market shifted and if we had been on our own we would have lost lots and lots and lots of money.

We fell in love with the culture and character of the company and bought a franchise.  A few years later we bought a second one for the Miami Beach market.  Our first market center is in a small bedroom community called Miami Shores where everyone knows you.  A few years later the market shifted and if we had been on our own we would have lost lots and lots and lots of money.  We held on because of the support and training from kw.

Now we are making money and have a life….free time…we could both disappear for months and our offices would support us. We receive passive income from profit sharing every month and that will continue to grow.  We loved that that money is willable to our families.
