On Wednesday, March 21st More than 70 business people attended a Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce luncheon to discuss “Navigating the Shifting Real Estate Market.” The event was organized by Miami Beach Team Leader Mirielle Enlow.

A Wisconsin native, Mirielle was active in the LGBT community for many years before moving to Miami Beach. Since then, she has formed strong ties with the Miami LGBT community and worked with the president of MDGLCC to help grow the chamber’s real estate industry membership and promote KW culture. The panelists that participated are well known in the community and the moderator has been with the Miami Herald writing on LGBT issues since 1985. Mirielle’s co-host for the event was Michael Gongora, the first openly gay city commissioner of Miami Beach.

The topic “Navigating the Shifting Real Estate Market” was geared toward agents, investors, and anyone in the real estate industry. Each panelist discussed the market shift impact on their side of the industry.  Cathy Pareto, a top 10 female wealth manager in the US, explained how portfolios can be affected, and if whether or no it’s the right time to buy, sell or hold tight.  Marty Davis, a top real estate attorney, discussed how changes in the market have affected contracts and negotiations.  Frances Alban, who actually won the coveted Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce excellence in innovative real estate marketing award last year, talked about how to best market real estate in a shifting market. Robin Schwartz with Caliber Home Mortgage talked about the impact on lending.

The panelists, Miami Beach Commissioners, Mirielle Enlow, KW Miami Beach Team Leader and Steve Adkins the President of the Miami Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

The panelists were knowledgeable, informative and even humorous.  The feedback from the audience was amazing!  Everyone is excited to come to the next MDGLCC Real Estate Luncheon which will feature Saria Finkelstein of the Laurie Reader Group from KW Plantation.  Saria has agreed to be the keynote speaker.
