WHAT A CONCEPT! If you want to meet more people and build a ton of relationships, be the energy source in every room you are in.

Last week on a weekly radio show hosted by Precise Selling Expert Brian Sullivan, the guest was Hollywood Actor Peter Dante. If you or your kids ever watch any Adam Sandler movies, you will recognize him as one of the regular actors who plays in all Sandler movies. (QB in the Waterboy for you diehards).  Pete was asked what his goal was when he left his East Coast life and moved to California.   The response was surprising.   He said he wasn’t quite sure what he wanted when he moved there, he just knew he had to take a chance.

After landing a job on the Larry Sanders show as a production assistant, he began meeting several actors…one of them being Adam Sandler. That led to several other relationships that created a network of high-powered folks in the entertainment industry. It also got him introduced to his wife Cindy, who is Brad Pitt’s manager.  So what was his formula for creating such a powerful network?   His answer was amazingly simple. He said, “I like to have fun. I smile and laugh a lot and because of that, I think people like being around me. That alone has opened up more doors than I could have ever imagined.”

There it is.   He was a source of energy.  And he didn’t do it with the intention of getting rich off of people. Do it because it’s fun. And the by-product of a great attitude and above average enthusiasm is…you meet a ton of people who want you around. And their wanting often leads to a few extra bucks in your pocket and perhaps a starring role in your company or industry.
